When I was a kid I was definitely accident-prone. I don’t know how it happened, but it did. Unlike most people I would trip going up the stairs. I broke a finger playing football, popped a blood vessel in another one at the batting cages, broke another finger playing floor hockey, sprained my ankle jumping off a swing, tore a ligament in my thumb playing basketball, got stitches in my eyebrow, and the list could continue. By now you can see that I have had many injuries. They should have kept my file handy at the ER as I liked to visit them quite often.
It’s so relieving to know that there are no accidents with God. He didn’t accidentally do something and the world was created. He didn’t say, “now that the world is created, let’s see what happens now”. Nothing that happens is apart from His control. Let me say that again, nothing that happens is (an accident) apart from His control. He knows exactly what is going to happen, when it’s going to happen, and how it is going to happen. He knows everything. It is such a comfort to rest all of my trust, hope, and confidence in a God who knows everything about my life.
In Jeremiah 29:11 it says, For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Not only does He know exactly what the plans are for you, but His plans are for good for you. He wants the very best for His children. Most Christians know and understand that God has a plan for their lives, but don’t know where to go from there. One of the main questions that I have heard is, what should I do? One of my favorite verses answers that question. In Micah 6:8 it says, He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God. The best way that we can carry this out is through Mark 12:30, And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.
There are no accidents with God. He knows the plans that He has for us, He wants the very best for us, and all we have to do is to walk with God, and to love Him with everything that we have. Are you walking with God today? Do you love God with all your heart, and all your soul, and all your mind, and all your strength? Do you want to see God’s amazing work in your life? Then, love Him wholly and completely.
